NFL DraftKings Week 1 DFS lineup advice

NFL DraftKings: Running Backs
Leonard Fournette $6,100 Chiefs @ Jaguars
You couldn’t ask for a better matchup to test whether or not Jacksonville really does plan on using Fournette more in the passing game. This game has the highest expected point total on the slate, and the Jaguars will very likely be playing from behind in the second half of this one. Fournette could do some damage before it gets to that point though. Kansas City was 27th in the league in rushing yards allowed per game last year, so by the time the 4th quarter rolls around, any receiving stats Fournette records might just be the icing on the cake.

Dalvin Cook $6,000 Falcons @ Vikings
What do Betty White, Danny DeVito, and my 2-year-old son have in common? Each of them could line up at running back against the Atlanta Falcons and haul in 5 receptions this Sunday. Just imagine what Dalvin Cook is going to do to them in Week 1. Of course, Atlanta’s leaky defense isn’t exactly a secret, and Cook is going to be one of the highest owned running backs on the slate. Even so, you’d be a fool to completely fade him just to avoid the ownership.
Chris Carson $5,700 Bengals @ Seahawks
Buckle up because the Chris Carson train is about to leave the station. This will be the last time this season that you will have an opportunity to play him in this price range. The Seattle Seahawks are 9.5 point favorites at home over a toothless Bengals team, and it’d be shocking to see Carson end up with less than 20 carries. According to stats found on profootballreference.com, in 2019 the Bengals defense ranked 29th in rushing yards allowed per game, 25th in total rushing touchdowns allowed and 25th in yards allowed per attempt. Carson might be the safest play on the slate.
Tevin Coleman $5,000 49ers @ Buccaneers
Let’s review the events of the last couple of weeks. DraftKings released the salaries for Week 1, which revealed Matt Breida to be a full $1,000 cheaper than Coleman. Then just days before kickoff, Kyle Shanahan named Breida as the starter. This was the perfect storm to make Coleman one of the best leverage plays on the entire slate. Don’t get me wrong, Breida for $4,000 in a game expected to be a shootout is an absolute bargain. But at considerably lower ownership, Coleman could really jump you over the field if he outperforms Breida.
