NFL DFS Week 1: Cash game breakdown

Dalvin Cook – FD $7400 DK $6000

This might be the best cash game play on the entire slate. The Falcons have been notoriously horrible against running back, particularly those who catch passes (which are the most valuable type in fantasy). Also, Kubiak is on the coaching staff for Minnesota now and he is known for wanting to “establish the run”. With Cook coming into the season healthy and his price being very affordable, this is a no brainer to me and he’s probably going to be highly owned to boot.

Todd Gurley – FD $7600 DK $7900

It’s not often you have a guy who is so priced down on one site compared to the other. He’s still affordable on DK but his price on FD is incredible. Given the bad taste he left in everyone’s mouths during the playoffs and the coach still saying things like he’ll not have a pitch count etc., I could see him not being very high owned. I think he SHOULD be highly owned on FD. If you remember what his salary was last year, and you don’t play him this week at this price on FD, you will never play him. If you’re scared of his knee issues or the Carolina defense or anything, I get it but I think you need to play him this week.

Leonard Fournette – FD $7200 DK $6100

Fournette is healthy and cheap and playing against a Chiefs defense that isn’t great. The problem is the game script with this game. I’m scared that if the amazing Mahomes and the Chiefs get ahead and force the Jaguars to play from behind, Fournette won’t get the carries and touches he needs to pay off. However, if Vegas is right and this game stays close, he could have a really nice game. I don’t think he’ll be chalk but I think he’s a reasonable play on either site in cash games.
