23. Jimmy Garoppolo

If San Francisco is going to make a run at the playoffs, Garoppolo has to be better. Against a lackluster Buccaneers defense, the Eastern Illinois product only mustered 166 yards with a touchdown and a pick-six. Needs to be better.

22. Sam Darnold

Darnold averaged 4.3 yards per attempt while the Jets offense only accounted for 10 points in a 17-16 home loss to the Buffalo Bills. The Jets need Darnold to push the ball down the field.

21. Jacoby Brissett

Brissett played well in his first start since Andrew Luck’s retirement. The former Patriots backup threw for 190 yards and two scores while completing 77 percent of his throws. The Colts will take that any day.

20. Marcus Mariota

Mariota enjoyed a ton of yardage after the catch from A.J. Brown and Derrick Henry, but he also did a nice job orchestrating the offense. All told, 248 yards and three scores with a win in Cleveland? Nice job.

19. Andy Dalton

Dalton lit up the Seattle Seahawks in a narrow 21-20 defeat. The Bengals had to be encouraged by Dalton, though, who threw for a league-high 418 yards in Week 1.

18. Derek Carr

Carr was fantastic in Oakland’s 24-16 over the Denver Broncos. The former Fresno State star threw for 259 yards while hitting on 22-of-26 passes. If Carr can play anywhere near that level on a continuous basis, the Raiders might surprise to an extent.
