You may never have guessed that one of the toughest places to play in college basketball is in Brookings, South Dakota, but the numbers don’t lie. The South Dakota State Jackrabbits have been a standout member of the Summit League, advancing to the NCAA Tournament five times since the 2012 season, and that is in no small part due to their tremendous home success.

Frost Arena was built in 1973 and named after former South Dakota State head coach Reuben B. “Jack” Frost. Located right on the east side of campus, Frost Arena has become a hot spot for students to support their Jackrabbits, who do nothing but win at home, losing just 19 times at Frost since the turn of the century.

The magic of Frost Arena also carries over to the women’s team, which has experienced plenty. of success of their own. The Jackrabbits’ women’s team has reached the NCAA Tournament nine times since 2009, including a run all the way to the Sweet 16 as a six seed this year.
