NFL DFS Week 2: Cash game breakdown

Josh Jacobs – FD $6500 DK $4700

Are you sensing a theme here yet? I’m beating you over the head with it. PLAY RAIDERS IN NFL DFS CASH! I will say it’s certainly possible to have too many of these guys. Be mindful this team is not good.

They’re primarily great cash plays because of the situation they’re in but more importantly due to their salary. When guys with an opportunity for volume and touches and possible scores are cheap, you play them in cash (and tournaments really).

Jacobs was really impressive in his opening game and my thought going into season long drafts this year was Gruden is an old school guy who will absolutely run the ball down your throat. The game script against Denver was very positive for him so we’ll have to see what things look like if they get behind against the Chiefs.

Alvin Kamara – FD $8700 DK $8200

Kamara is so good (and we already knew that, right?) but I felt as though it was really confirmed against the Texans in an unbelievable game. We knew Latavius Murray was coming in to play the Mark Ingram role and take touches away from Kamara but really he didn’t take away that many.

Kamara looked incredible the whole game against a pretty solid Houston defense (that was clearly missing Clowney). Also, McCaffrey just got over 200 yards all purpose against this same Rams defense last week. Maybe they’ll have made adjustments but everything points to Alvin being a solid cash game play this week.

Austin Ekeler – FD $7500 DK $6100

What a “debut” for Ekeler last week. Melvin Gordon was probably kicking himself because wow did that backfield look solid. Austin Ekeler absolutely went off and he’s in a decent spot again this week.

I don’t think he’ll be chalky on FanDuel but I really like his price on DraftKings where you get the benefit of full point per reception anyway. I’m going to have some trouble fading him there but then again, there’s so many good plays that I’m not sure he’ll make the cut.
