DFS advice – Week 3 QB Start’s

Dak Prescott (DAL) vs. MIA

After his rookie season, fantasy managers were avoiding starting Prescott in their lineups. He struggled up until midway through last season when the Cowboys finally went out and made a deal to acquire wide receiver Amari Cooper from the Oakland Raiders. From Week 10 on, Prescott shot up the rankings as he was QB3 during that span. That type of play has carried over into the first two weeks of the 2019 season as he is currently QB2 during an important contract-season. Prescott will look to continue his hot streak against a horrible Miami Dolphins’ secondary that has allowed the most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks this year (32.7).

Matthew Stafford (DET) @ PHI

After having a disappointing 2018 season where he finished as QB20 (13.3 points/game), Stafford is having a strong bounce-back effort in the early goings of 2019. He’s back to slinging the ball deep down the field once again as he has thrown the fifth-most passing yards in the first two weeks of the season. Stafford and company will be traveling to the City of Brotherly Love this weekend to take on the Eagles and their struggling secondary. For the time being, Philadelphia has allowed the second-most passing yards to quarterbacks in 2019. Lastly, both Case Keenum and Matt Ryan had solid fantasy performances against the Eagles in Week’s 1 and 2 as Philly ranks in the top 10 for the most fantasy points scored against them by signal-callers.

Jimmy Garoppolo (SF) vs. PIT

There was some serious doubt with Garoppolo heading into this year after we saw him have an awful preseason outing this summer. Garoppolo did not look sharp at all, raising the question: how long would he last before coach Shanahan decides to pull the plug? Luckily, he has managed to find his feet under him in time as he appears to have regained the form he had prior to his season-ending injury in Week 3 last year. He was QB6 this past week and he seems to be just warming up after he threw for over 300 yards and a touchdown against the Bengals. The Pittsburgh Steelers are a train-wreck right now and this is the perfect matchup for Garoppolo to officially assert himself as a reliable fantasy starter moving forward. I like his chances of having a top10 fantasy day when all is said and done for Week 3.

Honorable Mentions: Tom Brady vs. NYJ, Josh Allen vs. CIN & Kyler Murray vs. CAR
