4. Wan’dale Robinson

Robinson, a four-star, all-purpose back, was the highest-rated player in the 2019 recruiting class for Nebraska. Hailing from Frankfort, Kentucky, Robinson was expected to make an impact this season and he has done just that. Scott Frost has emphasized getting Robinson the ball already.

Over his first three games at Nebraska the Freshman is catching passes, getting carries, and returning kicks as Frost values him as a playmaker. In those three games, he’s caught nine passes for 112 yards averaging 12.9 yards per reception. He also has eight carries for 30 yards on the season and has added 77 yards on three returns too. That is a lot of involvement for a true freshman and it should only go up as the season goes on and he gets more experience.

Robinson isn’t the first true freshman to make an impact in Frost’s tenure as Martinez started at quarterback last season as a freshman. Martinez shined in the role and Robinson should do the same this season as an all-purpose athlete. If you can get him into space, he’s almost impossible to stop and the Cornhusker faithful will get to see his dazzling play for at least three more seasons.

While it might be troubling that all that skill hasn’t resulted in any touchdowns yet, it shouldn’t. With the skill that he has, the touchdowns will follow, and they’ll follow in bunches.

Athletes like Robinson won’t come all the time for any program in the country. How the schools approach developing this talent is just as important as getting that talent there in the first place.
