3. Zach Duval

Most people outside of the Nebraska faithful probably won’t know who Duval is. But he is going to be a pivotal piece to the success of the Cornhuskers moving forward. Duval is the head strength and conditioning coach for Nebraska and he has been great at improving the physical development of players wherever he’s gone.

His first notable stop was at Buffalo from 2010-2013 where he oversaw the development of Khalil Mack, now one of the best defenders in the NFL.

Duval graduated from Nebraska and developed a relationship with Frost when he was an assistant strength coach at Nebraska from 1997-2002 and 2008. Because of this, Duval was hired as the director of sports performance for football at UCF in the two seasons that Frost was there.

Under his development, 16 UCF players were selected as all-conference players in 2017, an American Athletic Conference record. Duval also won the National Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year award in 2017 as well.  Frost and Duval led the UCF nights to a 13-0 record in 2017 and they both went to their Alma Matter to try and revive the Nebraska football program.

Duval is entering his second year at Nebraska Give it some time, and there is no doubt that fans will begin to see an improvement in the weight gains of players that are entering the program. Duval has become one of the elite strength and conditioning coaches in the country, something that is needed to compete at the highest levels of college football.

Every player needs to be built up and conditioned for the rigors of college football, including the star of the team.
