Josh Allen just got plastered by the Patriots (Video)
Buffalo Bills second-year quarterback Josh Allen had a rough Week 4 outing against the dominant New England Patriots, but things took a dangerous turn when he absorbed a dirty shot from opposing cornerback Jonathan Jones.
Heading into the fourth quarter of the Buffalo Bills Week 4 matchup with the rival New England Patriots, second-year signal-caller Josh Allen had taken four sacks.
But no shot was as vicious as this illegal hit from cornerback Jonathan Jones, who will likely take a huge fine for this one.
Yikes. Helmet-to-helmet hits are always scary, and the last thing any fan base wants to see is their young quarterback on the receiving end of one of these. Hopefully, Allen hasn’t suffered a concussion from this hit.
The way Allen hits the field is scary, too. He was even forced out of the game by this hit, as former USC standout and veteran backup Matt Barkley was forced to enter the game for the Bills. At the time of the injury, the Bills were down 16-10 but had a chance to win.
Allen’s rough day finished with injury added to insult, as he only completed 13 of 28 passes. He averaged 5.5 yards per pass attempt, tossing three interceptions, including an early one to Devin McCourty, who now has four straight interceptions in four games this season.
Fingers crossed that Allen will be OK for Week 5, as he had led the Bills to a 3-0 start before facing a tougher opponent in the Patriots. Allen, despite his poor decisions against New England, showed real growth under center in Week 2 and Week 3 and has the physical tools to give the Bills a fighting chance in any given week.
