Showdown: Cheap Options

Nick Vannett – $4,200

With Vance McDonald doubtful tomorrow night, Vannett looks poised for a major role in the offense after being traded to the Steelers from Seattle last week. At $4200, he is a nice flex play for those lineups in which you’re looking for some savings and target volume.

More from DFS

Giovani Bernard – $3,800

Bernard has standalone value as he is the team’s pass-catching specialist. When Mixon has missed time, Bernard has done very well with the lion’s share of the work and easily breaks the slate if he ends up seeing a 50-50 split that they have rolled out in the past. I will have some shares of Bernard in my flex but do not jam him into every one of your lineups.

C.J Uzomah – $1,400

With Tyler Eifert still working to get back to 100% after last year’s devastating injury, Uzomah is seeing the majority of the snaps albeit most of them are when he is blocking. At $1400 though he could easily catch a few passes and pay off his salary if he can fall into the end-zone as he will be in on all goal-line sets.

Alex Erickson – $800

He is $800 and plays out of the slot on 25% of his routes, good enough for me and his cheap price tag to find a couple of roster spots on my showdown lineups tomorrow night.

DraftKings Showdown: Special Teams / Defensive Flex Options

With two question marks at quarterback, all four special teams and defensive options come into play on tomorrow’s slate. While it is doubtful that we have three of the four winning the showdown slate as we did in the Saints, Cowboys game, you will want a sprinkling of each in-game specific builds tomorrow night. A common game script build would be pairing your running back with the team’s defense.

Steelers – $4,600

Bengals – $4,000

Chris Boswell – $3,600

Randy Bullock – $3,400

DraftKings Showdown: Game Script Thoughts

The Steelers opened as a 4.5 point favorite with a total of 43.5. As of this evening, the Steelers are now just a 3 to 3.5 point favorite and the total has risen to 45. There doesn’t seem to be not a lot of faith in Mason Rudolph and this 0-3 Steelers bunch. Much like the Saints game tonight, I am expecting an all in effort from the Steelers. This is a bitter rivalry, which should keep both offenses from exploding. While I think the total is correct, I believe the Steelers jump out to a fast start in which they ride James Conner to the finish line in a close 24-20 win over the Bengals.
