NFL DFS: Indianapolis Colts @ Kansas City Chiefs

PREVIEW

One week after narrowly escaping the not-so-friendly confines of Ford Field, the Chiefs return home to face off with the Colts defense that has held their own through the air but have allowed the 8th most rushing yards per game (132.5) on the season.

While the Chiefs don’t run as much as other teams, they have 3 capable running backs to back up the most dangerous passing attack in the league.

The Colts will have to play catch-up in this one, giving ample opportunity to the entire offense against a defense that just got picked apart by the entire Lions offense. While they’re 11-point underdogs on the road, this game still holds the highest implied total (57) on the slate.

CASH PLAYS

  • Patrick Mahomes (QB-KC): This play needs absolutely no rationale, especially on a 1-2 game slate. The Colts allow the 13th most fantasy points per game to QBs and will have absolutely no firepower to stop Mahomes.
  • Travis Kelce (TE-KC): The only consistent receiving option in KC, Kelce leads the team with a 21.43% target share, but has yet to find the end zone. The Colts have allowed the 4th most fantasy points to TEs this season (11.1), so there’s a good chance that the touchdown drought could come to a halt on Sunday night.

GPP PLAYS

  • Damien Williams (RB-KC): After practicing in full on Wednesday, Williams is slated to make a return this week. McCoy was a limited participant on Wednesday as he nurses an ankle injury, so we could very well see the Chiefs take it easy on him if they get a big lead, leading to an expanded workload for Williams at a reasonable salary.
  • Sammy Watkins / Mecole Hardman / Demarcus Robinson (WR-KC): All three of these receivers have target share percentages over 10%, but it’s hard to predict exactly which one will be the go-to in a given game. Tyreek Hill has also been labeled as questionable (I view him more as doubtful). Of the three, Robinson draws the most exploitable matchup (surprisingly) with Pierre Desir, who’s posted a paltry PFF grade of 59.8 this season.
  • T.Y. Hilton (WR-IND) *If active: Hilton said that he “feels really good” but was rather non-committal regarding his status for Sunday, but he should be in line for a heap of work if he can take the field. This game has the highest implied total on the slate and with Marlon Mack questionable, Indianapolis might have to rely solely on the aerial attack.
