Tyler Boyd’s Stock Continues to Rise

I know I talked about this earlier in the summer, but Boyd’s stock continues to shoot up the value board this year. Through the first four games of the regular season, Boyd is fourth in receptions (6.8/gm), and fourth in targets as well (9.5/gm).

I’m quite impressed with how well Boyd has produced with a team that has one of the worst offensive lines in football this year. When your quarterback is running for his life, or barely has any time to react on almost every offensive snap, it’s going to be pretty tough for any receiver to do well.

Boyd has been able to handle the workload even with number one receiver A.J. Green out with an ankle injury that he suffered back in late July.

He is currently averaging a little over 13.0 fantasy points per game in full PPR formats, which is right around where Brandin Cooks is producing as well.

Boyd makes for a fantastic flex play option especially with his increased workload during Green’s absence. Did I also mention that fellow wideout John Ross has also been placed on injured reserve with a clavicle injury? This will only help boost Boyd’s growing volume in the coming weeks ahead.

The Bengals have an intriguing match-up this week against the Arizona Cardinals who have been surrendering about 20.5 fantasy points per game to pass catchers. While Cincinnati’s protection-rate for Andy Dalton hasn’t been any good this year, Arizona’s defense has shown signs of weakness from time to time despite significantly improving from last year.

I love how well Boyd has progressed since taking over the number 1 receiver’s role in Cincinnati. He’s making the most of his situation while playing for a lousy team. There’s not much else you can ask for from him. Continue to plug him in your lineups.
