Yahoo NFL – Daily fantasy football: Week five picks
By Raju Byfield
Yahoo NFL: Deshaun Watson ($35 salary)
Deshaun Watson has a terrific matchup this weekend against one of the worst secondaries in the league. The Falcons allowed the struggling Marcus Mariota to throw for three touchdowns. The week prior they allowed Jacoby Brissett to throw for over 300 yards. Watson has QB1 overall potential this weekend and is priced accordingly.
Fitting him into your lineup means you will have to find bargains elsewhere, but his upside is salivating. Currently the QB6 on the season, Watson is facing off against a Falcons defense that has relinquished the 10th most fantasy points to the quarterback position.
Watson already has two top five fantasy performances under his belt and appears set for his third this weekend. He deserves strong consideration for your Week 5 lineup.
Yahoo NFL: LeSean McCoy ($22 salary)
The RB15 on the season, LeSean McCoy has been operating as the Kansas City Chiefs lead back, and appears set to do the same this weekend. Damien Wiliams has returned to practice and is looking likely to make his return to game action.
However, McCoy will likely maintain his lead back role with Damien Williams and Darrel Williams battling for touches behind him. McCoy has found the end zone in two straight contests, and is sixth in the league with 14 red zone touches. He continues to be utilized in high leverage situations and projects as the Chiefs back with the safest floor for Week 5.
The Indianapolis Colts have relinquished 103.5 rushing yards per game (ninth most) at a 4.98 yards per carry (fourth most) clip. They have also allowed 4.75 receptions for 41.5 yards per contest to opposing running backs.
The Indianapolis Colts have surrendered the ninth most fantasy points to enemy backs and could give up multiple RB2 level performances to the Chiefs backfield.
Yahoo NFL: Mark Ingram ($26 salary)
The RB5 on the season, Mark Ingram has averaged 82 rushing yards per contest. He has been more impressive than expected this season. His six yards per carry is a career high, as are his 3.3 yards per carry after contact and 25.5 percent broken tackle rate.
With Baltimore expected to cruise to an easy victory against the struggling Pittsburgh Steelers, Ingram should be a focal point of the offense.
The Steelers have surrendered 112.5 rushing yards per game (sixth most) at 4.29 yards per carry to the running back position. They have also given up 7.5 receptions for 57 yards per contest. Ingram should be good for at least 100 yards from scrimmage and a score this weekend.
