Rizzla breaks down and discusses the rationale behind his Yahoo NFL Cup Round 5 DFS lineup.

As always I like to start by reflecting and learning from our previous weeks lineup for Yahoo NFL Week 4 plays were filled with more duds than studs. Lamar Jackson threw his first two picks of the season in a disappointing loss, but still wound up with a cool 26.48 points.

Dalvin Cook was predictably bottled up by the Bears but managed to salvage his fantasy day with a late score.

Cook failed in his bid to don the matchup proof label as his 16 points were well south of what one expects from a player with a $37 price tag. LeSean McCoy put up a smooth 15.9 points and once again looked impressive as the Chiefs lead back.

The duds portion of the lineup really hit rock bottom. D.K. Metcalf saw just four targets in Week 4. And hauled in just one of them for a grand total of four yards receiving. The Jacksonville Jaguars defense struggled without Jalen Ramsey and posted zero sacks and one interception against Joe Flacco and the Denver Broncos.

Their 24 points allowed were more than they surrendered in their previous two games combined. Mark Ingram was deterred by game-flow and despite 5.91 yards per tote on 12 carries ended up with just 7.6 points as the Ravens scored all three of their touchdowns through the air.

Second on the team in week 5 targets, Brown saw a healthy seven looks against an injury ravaged Cleveland Browns secondary. He hauled in four of his seven targets, for just 22 yards receiving.  Brown finished with just 4.2 fantasy points.

Preston Williams, still a weekly breakout candidate led the Miami Dolphins in targets for the second straight week, but could not make the most of them. He hauled in just four of his seven targets for 46 yards receiving. Finally, Darren Waller.

Waller corralled seven of his eight targets, but took them for just 53 receiving yards. If he does not find the end zone, Waller is more of a full PPR asset.

Despite leading all tight ends in target share and receptions, Waller has just one outing of over 11 fantasy points. I will be keeping him out of lineups until he proves he can find the end zone.

For this week’s NFL Yahoo Cup free roll I followed my usual strategy of filling defense, tight end and quarterback first by identifying the best potential values and then doing the same for both running back and receiver.
