NBA Preseason DFS: Spurs @ Heat

Miami: Kelly Olynyk and James Johnson are QUESTIONABLE.

San Antonio: DeMarre Carroll, Marco Bellinelli, and Trey Lyles are OUT.

The Spurs are playing their second game of the preseason while this is Miami’s first preseason game. DeMar DeRozan was rested on Saturday but could return to the lineup tonight. Second-year guard Lonnie Walker, who really stood out in the Summer League, started for DeRozan and played a team-high 24 minutes.

I never really trust Coach Popovich to play his starters any real minutes so unless we get word from him that he plans to give them more run than he did on Saturday, I’m off the San Antonio guys for the most part. Walker is still a nice play even if he comes off the bench and Bryn Forbes dropped 24 points in their opener in 23 minutes, too.

The new-look heat will begin the Jimmy Butler era on Tuesday night. How much Jimmy B and the rest of the starters play is very much in question, but Butler is certainly on my radar tonight. Bam Adebayo is going to have a monster year now that Whiteside is gone and is one of my favorite plays on the slate with both Kelly Olynyk and James Johnson questionable to play. He can rack up stats in a hurry.

Elite Plays: Bam Adebayo, Lonnie Walker

Also Consider: Bryn Forbes, Jimmy Butler, Tyler Herro, Derrick Jones Jr.
