NBA Preseason DFS: Tuesday, 10/8
Back by popular demand, here’s my second NBA Preseason DFS article for the 2019 preseason. I’m “Thunder Dan” and I’ve been covering NBA DFS here at FantasyCPR for the last year. It brings me great pleasure to be able to provide some free preseason (and regular season, too!) content for tonight’s four-game slate.
I hope you had some success on last night’s slate. We got some late-breaking news that the Bucks were resting everyone (I had my suspicions) and I had to pivot off Bradley Beal once they said he wouldn’t play that much. But overall it was a good night and the majority of my elite plays did well. Now, let’s see if we can’t do it again, tonight!
I love playing preseason NBA DFS for several reasons and I’m going to do my best to provide some content when I can fit it in between my NFL writing schedule. Here’s why you should play NBA preseason DFS, too.
It will familiarize you with all the teams’ rotations. At some point in the preseason (it might not be the first game) each team will attempt to play their starters for 2-3 quarters and give us some clues as to who their top subs are going to be off the bench.
- It allows you to monitor the roles and production of rookies and players on new teams.
- It forces you to follow NBA beat writers on Twitter for news about minutes and player injuries/rest. This is something you should definitely do for the regular season.
- It allows you the ability to practice roster construction on whatever site you choose to play.
- It’s really fun and there’s absolutely an edge if you’re willing to put in the work!
I’m going to do my best to do some of that work for you by giving you all the info that I’m able to get my hands on, but understand that this article is published early in the morning so you’re going to have to keep tabs on the teams playing tonight in case players get ruled out during the day or coaches announce their plans on how they are going to distribute minutes to their starters.
We have four games on the slate tonight and each of them has quite a few appealing DFS options. I’m not going to include pricing for each of the players today because I don’t want to make these articles site-specific. I will include a Draftkings and FanDuel sample lineup at the end to try to give you an idea of what my builds will look like. Let’s dive right into this slate with our first matchup between the Spurs and the Heat!
