DraftKings EuroLeague Guards:

Alexey Shved is once again the best player on the slate. He showed it in the opener against Tel Aviv. Baskonia has a solid defense, but Shved is one of those few players you can feel good about using regardless of the opponent.

I don’t feel that way about Micic. In fact, if Shane Larkin is back, I don’t like either of them against Berlin. Micic is a decent play, but I think I would rather use Sergio Rodriguez. Rodriguez was strong for Milan with Nedovic out last week and should be again.

Peyton Siva led Berlin in scoring in the EuroCup. If he returns, I will have a lot of shares of him here. Vassilis Spanoulis and Wade Baldwin are solid options in a solid matchup. Just be aware that Olympiacos may continue to limit Spanoulis because of off season foot surgery.

If Siva is out again, I really like Marcus Erikkson and Martin Hermannsson. They both played well in the opener. Siva’s presence would shrink the production of both to the point where I don’t want to play either one.

The middle and lower tier of guards is littered with shooters again. All of them carry a risk if their shots aren’t falling. I feel as though Marius Grigonis is one of the safer options. Matt Janning, Arturas Milaknis, Thomas Walkup, and Michael Roll are all risks. Janning and Milaknis are my favorites if you must take a shot with one of them.

Pierria Henry was a nice value for Baskonia in the opener, and the price didn’t go up to the point where I’m uncomfortable using him. Alex Renfroe was very good for a beleaguered St. Petersburg squad, and could be a huge value once again.

Dogus Balbay had a strong all around stat line against Barcelona in the opener, but his value is directly related to the status of Larkin and Beaubois. If one or both are back, Balbay is going to take a back seat and limit his value.

Kevin Punter led Olympiacos in minutes and turned in a great stat line for his price. With Spanoulis maybe limited and both Brandon Paul and Baldwin struggling, look for Punter to absorb minutes until someone takes them away.
