Late DraftKings college football running back picks October 12

Top Tier:

We saw Salvon Ahmed break out against USC. He should have room to run against Arizona as well. The Wildcats are weaker in pass defense, but I don’t trust Washington’s pass game right now. Leaning on Ahmed seems safer for DFS and real life.

Middle Tier:

The return of Juwan Washington helped the Aztecs last week, but if Colorado State can hold him to under five per carry, Wyoming definitely will. The receiving touchdown saved Washington’s stat line last week. I don’t want to have to depend on a touchdown if I can help it.

There seems to be a changing of the guard for Boise at running back. George Holani ran for 80 yards last week. Robert Mahone had the same amount of carries but ran for just 13 yards. Save some money and go with Holani. This is one of the better matchups of the night DraftKings college football slate.

Bargain Shoppers:

I don’t think I would trust any Arizona back right now. Gary Brightwell led in carries but was just as ineffective as Smith was. J.J. Taylor played just one series before sitting the rest of this one out. If Taylor plays, I’ll consider him. If not, I want no part of this.

Hawaii’s running backs may as well be in witness protection. They just don’t run much. However, Fred Holly is really cheap and gets most of the carries for whatever that’s worth. Boise’s run defense is stout, so there isn’t a lot of upside here.
