Late DraftKings college football quarterback picks October 12

Top Tier:

Khalil Tate sure looked 100% against Colorado last week after his status being in doubt leading up to the game. Washington’s defense is going to provide stiff resistance, but Tate is probably the best athlete on this entire slate at any position, who just happens to have a dangerous arm as well. Tate is the best pure play out there.

The volume award goes to Cole McDonald. Hawaii isn’t going to stop throwing just because Boise gets after them. McDonald has attempted at least 30 passes in every game, going over 40 in two of those. I hope the Boise secondary got some extra practice this week.

Middle Tier:

Saying that Hank Bachmeier is a game manager belittles what he has actually done. Bachmeier has over 200 passing yards in every game and beat the Seminoles in Tallahassee in his first career start. If this game becomes a shootout, we could see Bachmeier go toe to toe with McDonald. That’s a dream scenario for us DraftKings college football players that just might come true.

Jacob Eason threw for 349 yards in the opener against Eastern Washington. He hasn’t hit 300 yards since. He was supposed to keep this Washington offense rolling, but that hasn’t been the case so far. Eason has just 386 passing yards over the last two games against USC and Stanford. Arizona should be an easier matchup, but I don’t know that I trust Eason right now. The price tag makes it worth considering though.

Bargain Shoppers:

Considering the strength of San Diego State’s rush defense, I’m avoiding Sean Chambers because his main strength is running the football. Chambers hasn’t completed half of his passes in any game this season. His high is 44.4%. No thanks.

My favorite quarterback of the night is actually the cheapest. Wyoming’s run defense has been outstanding. They are allowing just 83.4 rushing yards per game. They are allowing 328.8 through the air. Ryan Agnew flew the friendly skies with a lot of success against Utah State because they stopped the run. Expect the same thing here. Agnew doesn’t have the upside of McDonald or Tate, but he is a hell of a lot cheaper.
