NFL DFS: Running Back Pivots

Chalk: LeVeon Bell, Leonard Fournette, Kenyan Drake, Chase Edmonds

Pivots: Dalvin Cook, Mark Ingram, Chris Carson

LeVeon Bell projects as the chalkiest back this week and will be a staple in my cash games with his receiving floor and his starting quarterback returning to the lineup. I’m more excited about the Jags passing game than Fournette and of those last two cheap backs, I prefer Chase Edmonds although he will become uber-chalk if David Johnson is ruled out.

Let’s start with the NFL’s second-leading rusher, Dalvin Cook in what looks to be like a tough matchup against a good Eagles run defense. Cook is averaging a ridiculous 5.9 yards-per-carry this season and has 5 rushing touchdowns. He’s going to be completely overlooked this week despite being one of the few workhorse backs on the main slate.

Cook is an every-down back who also has 21 catches for 200 yards receiving and that’s really what puts him in play this week on Draftkings. The Eagles may be stout up the middle, but they’ve struggled against backs coming out of the backfield and that’s really where Cook is at his best. If the Vikings are smart, they will scheme Cook the ball in space and take advantage of his ability to make plays on the edge.
