NFL DFS: Defense Pivots

Chalk: New York Jets, Washington Redskins

Pivots: St. Louis Rams, San Francisco 49ers, Tennessee Titans

The Jets are just too damn cheap! At only 1.5k they don’t have to do much of anything to make value and rostering them opens up so much cap space. I’ll definitely be using them in lineups, but just understand that there’s the possibility that you are eating a zero there while other defenses could force turnovers and rack up 15-20 DK points.

Speaking of turnovers, the 49ers have forced 11 turnovers already this season and will face off against Jared Goff, who happens to have thrown 7 picks. I like the under in this game and would really rather play the defenses here and maybe just a few offensive players like Kupp or Kittle. The St. Louis defense is firmly in play here, too. This 49ers offense has rolled over some bad competition, but against better defenses, they have struggled at times. They turned it over 5 times against the Steelers in week 3 and somehow still survived. Aaron Donald and the Rams pass rush will be applying pressure to Garoppolo and we will see what he’s made out of this week.

Last, but not least, we have the Tennessee Titans, who are quietly humming along as a top 10 defense despite a 2-3 record. They are middle of the pack in DVOA, but rank 6th in points allowed and are facing a Broncos offense that looked anemic last week against the Chargers. They’re pretty cheap and could pay off this week with some sacks by keeping Denver under 10 points.
