NFL FanDuel: Week 6 RB Targets – (Early Only)

Mark Ingram – $7,500 – (Cash/GPP)

It’s kind of a weird slate without Christian McCaffrey, isn’t it? In fact, Dalvin Cook is the most expensive RB on the slate at $8,200, and his match-up against a vaunted Philadelphia front-seven leaves little to be desired. That looks like a pass-first game for Minnesota once again, but with the volume Cook is guaranteed to get he certainly makes for a great GPP pivot. People may just pay up for Cook in cash games this week on this slate simply because it easy to do so, but I have my eyes on three other RB’s this week for cash games, and it starts here with Ingram.

It may seem sort of counterproductive rostering a QB and an RB from the same squad, but when Jackson and Ingram are facing a team like the Bengals, they both become must-have’s in my opinion. Ingram is still not being used as a workhorse as he is averaging just 14.8 carries per game, but he did go over 100 yards against bad defenses against the run in the Dolphins and the Chiefs, and he has found the end zone six times already through five games.

The Bengals are so bad against the run, even backups are having big games, making Gus Edwards a viable deep flyer. Running backs are averaging 203 rushing yards and almost two TD’s per game on the season, and in the last two, the Cincy defense has allowed backups like Chase Edmonds and Jaylen Samuels to even have decent games. I think the Ravens run a ton here, and when Jackson looks to pass we may see him pull it down and run with more often this week.

Leonard Fournette – $7,300 – (Cash)

Volume, Volume, Volume! Fournette is turning into the ideal FanDuel cash game back with the touchdown and yardage production, and he is still too cheap here. After receiving no more than 15 carries in any of the first three games, the Jags have given Fournette the ball 52 times total the last two games, and he responded by ripping off 333 yards against the Broncos and the Panthers. On top of that, Fournette is also quietly being used in the passing game as well, as he is averaging six targets per game.

While Minshew Mania ensues this week and everyone is trying to figure out if Westbrook or Chark is the better play to go along with him, I wouldn’t forget about Fournette in your cash game lineup. The Saints are tough against the run, but I think this game will be closer than many think. I think Teddy Bridgewater struggles on the road in this one, and Fournette will be pounding it out in the second half. The stats in the offense vs. defense match-up in this one are going to favor Minshew and the passing game, but there is maybe one player on this slate who is guaranteed 25+ touches, and that would be Fournette.
