NFL FanDuel: Week 6 WR Targets – (Early Only)

D.J. Chark – $6,500 – (Cash)

Chark was going to be a GPP pivot, but word on the streets is that he is shaping up to be D.J. Chalk. The 2nd round pick out of LSU had the best game of his young NFL career posting an 8-162-2 line against the Panthers last week on 11 targets. It was his second 100-yard game of the season and his first since he went for 4-146-1 against the Chiefs in week one. While all of this sounds great and I was all over Chark in GPP’s for a bit, but the more I dug this week I think I am going to just ride the chalk in cash games, and look to what should be a much lower owned and much cheaper Dede Westbrook in tournament play. Here is why.

Chark figures to draw the coverage of Marshon Lattimore on the outside, and while Lattimore got off to a bad start this season, he has been back to a lockdown corner the last couple of weeks. He shadowed Mike Evans last week, and he was held without a single catch on just three targets. Meanwhile, slot corner for the Saints P.J. Williams is among the worst in the league according to PFF. While that should open things up for Westbrook, my only fear is that he just does not have the chemistry that Minshew is developing with Chark. I am not going to overthink this one in cash games and stick with Chark there, but I am leaning towards stacking Minshew with Dede in tournament play.

Tyler Lockett – $6,300 – (Cash)

Chris Carson will be one of the chalkier cash game plays on the slate at the RB position, but I think Lockett at this price is very much in play for cash games as well. This whole price range is loaded, and Tyler Boyd, Will Fuller, and Chark above should all be considered for cash games. Lockett is my least favorite of the four even though he is the cheapest, but I cannot argue against playing the number one option in this offense against the Browns.

We watched the Browns get absolutely ran through last week by the 49ers trio of backs, and of course, that is the reason we are leaning on Carson this week. However, the Browns probably know this as well, and we can expect to see them try to shore that up this week. Both starting cornerbacks in Greedy Williams and Denzel Ward missed last week’s game and with both likely returning this week, you would figure that would make Lockett even less appealing.

However, their presence will allow this defense to stack the box and attempt to stop the run, something they did not have the luxury to do last week. For that reason, I expect the Seahawks to try to avoid the obvious, and Wilson to look for Lockett when he is single covered. I don’t think he has a big game, but I think Lockett finds the end zone this Sunday.

Stefon Diggs – $5,800 – (GPP)

I cannot believe a player of this caliber is under $6K, but his lack of production warrants it. It isn’t often we have a legit home run threat at this price tag, but the fact that Diggs is yet to have a good games makes it warranted I guess. We saw what happened with a cheap Will Fuller last week, and Diggs certainly has the talent to have a similar game.

The Eagles have the number one defense against the run, but they rank 27th against the pass. The Vikings were able to move the ball through the air last week against the Giants, but one thing they still did not do is get Diggs involved. I am here for the breakout game, and I will have a share or two of Diggs every week until he gets it.
