NFL FanDuel: Week 6 TE Targets – (Early Only)

Zach Ertz – $6,600 – (Cash)

The salary to pay up for Travis Kelce seems to easily be there this week if you want to go that route, but like I sort of hinted at early, there are some reasons to fade that KC/HOU chalk, even in cash games. Mahomes has looked human, and it sounds like this offense will also get Tyreek Hill back. It seems as though trying to pinpoint where the production will go is getting to Patriots level confusing. On top of all of this, the Texans defense is solid, especially against the tight end position, and for $900 cheaper I just think Ertz is in a much better spot.

If there is one spot the Vikings defense has been the most vulnerable, it has been against the tight end position, and Ertz should present probably the only real match-up problem. I keep thinking back to the game in which the Vikings destroyed the Raiders, and David Carr just kept throwing the ball to a wide-open Darren Waller down the stretch when the game was out of hand.

Last week the Vikings were able to hold Evan Engram to six catches for 42 yards, but he was targeted 11 times. Ertz has only received double-digit targets once this season, but he comes into this one after finally getting the monkey off of his back and finding the end zone for the first time this season last week against the Jets. If Wentz is smart, he will look Ertz’s way early and often this Sunday.
