NFL DFS bargain bin: Week 6 Running Backs

Phillip Lindsay, DEN vs. TEN: (DraftKings-$5,300/FanDuel-$6,700/FantasyDraft-$9,400/Yahoo-$18)

Lindsay’s prices somehow remain highly reasonable despite the fact he’s already outproduced them on more than one occasion this season. The second-year back has a valued, steady role in the passing game in addition to his stellar work on the ground, keeping him in play at these prices even in tough matchups. The Titans don’t even necessarily qualify as an overly imposing opponent against the run anyhow, as they’ll come in all allowing 4.5 yards per carry to running backs, along with 21.2 DraftKings/FantasyDraft and 18.0 FanDuel/Yahoo points per game to the position.

Tennessee has also yielded the sixth-most receptions (32) to RBs, while Lindsay already has a quartet of four-catch efforts over his first five games. Then, the Broncos’ offensive line is ranked fifth overall in the league in adjusted line yards (5.04) and is also facilitating the ninth-most second-level yards per carry (1.32), while the Titans’ defensive line checks in surrendering the third-most open-field yards per carry (1.41). Lindsay already has three rushes of greater than 20 yards on the season and has the quickness and speed to take advantage of Tennessee’s tendency to let running backs pop off for big gains.

Adrian Peterson, WAS at MIA: (DraftKings-$4,500/FanDuel-$5,300/FantasyDraft-$8,800/Yahoo-$16)

This might well be the riskiest suggestion this week, but there’s a method to the madness here. To begin with, look no further than the matchup against the Dolphins run defense. Miami is allowing the second-most DraftKings/Fantasy Draft (38.9) and FanDuel/Yahoo (34.2) fantasy points per game to running backs. They’ve also surrendered the fourth-most rushing yards overall (615) and have already facilitated five rushing touchdowns on the season.

Then, while the Redskins have admittedly been highly inefficient running the ball thus far this season, it’s a new day in Washington with offensive line coach Bill Callahan taking the reins of the team as interim head coach. Callahan has already publicly committed to a more run-centered approach, unsurprising given his position coaching duties.

Callahan specifically signaled out Peterson this week as a player who hasn’t had a chance to get into a rhythm this season, and a matchup versus a Miami front that’s allowed the third-most adjusted line yards (5.26) and is tied for fifth-most second-level yards allowed (1.38) per carry is certainly one in which the veteran running back could start to hit his stride.
