NXT UK recap, October 10: The Frenemy Zone

Kenny Williams might want to consider different footwear
In his actual match, Dave Mastiff comes back strong, smushing poor Kenny Williams. Kenny continues to try and get back on the right track to no avail. At least he’s been on track before though — Jack Starz is at least halfway across town from the track.
Not that anyone would expect Williams to pin Mastiff, but the match takes an ”interesting” turn. We put the word in quotes because it’s not really that interesting, but Williams does wrestle the majority of the match with a hurt ankle. Isn’t he supposed to be lucky or something?

He twists it — his second Nike-related mishap — upon being tossed over the top rope to the floor and landing on his feet, and can’t really pull off any of his offense from there on. The question of course is, was the ankle really hurt and limiting him, or was this just convincing selling and Williams is very good at intentionally screwing up his moves to make them look very dangerous for all involved?
NXT UK seem to be kind of building Kenny up in a “he loses but he does so with grace and learns things in the process” sort of way. Could be the injury is part of that, it certainly fits in nicely with the narrative.
Anyway, after actually pulling off a move — a rebound lariat, nothing aerial — Kenny goes for his wheelbarrow facebuster, only to be tossed aside towards the corner. Of course, the corner is where Mastiff likes to hit Into the Void, and he does just that to secure the win. The two shake hands afterwards as Kenny hobbles to the back and Mastiff resumes trending up.
