Fantasy Football picks: Week 6 SNF Steelers vs. Chargers

Philip Rivers – It has been an odd year for the long time Charger quarterback. He has done a good job of getting completed passes, with a 67% completion rate, but he only has seven touchdowns, with just as many turnovers.

The absence of Melvin Gordon probably had a very slight impact on his production, but Ekler has been more than a capable replacement. He also lost Hunter Henry which is a great weapon in the red-zone. Either way, he is the most expensive player on this slate, so lets take a look at him. Pittsburgh, has been much better on the defensive side of the ball as of late.

Ranking 19th in fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. While that end is getting better, the offensive end is just not getting the job done. This is a spot where the Steelers defense is going to be on the field for the majority of the game.

For this reason, we want to grab plenty of exposure to the Chargers offense. They will have more chances to score, and even if they do limit Rivers slightly, he still has a high enough floor to get you where you need to be in cash games.

Keenan Allen – If we are going to roster Rivers, than we should probably roster his top receiver. Keenan opened up the year with three great games, than proceeded to put up two duds in the past two weeks.

Now, in the Miami game he should have gotten a 75 yard touchdown, but a bad call by the refs reversed the score, and it was all downhill from that point.

Still, he has 53 targets through six weeks, which is something that we can’t ignore, especially on a one game slate. There are not many guys that can cover Keenan, and even though the Steelers defense is improving, I think Allen gets his fair share of production.
