Fantasy football picks: Week 7 TNF Broncos vs. Chiefs

Phillip Lindsay – Another player who gets an excellent individual match-up. The Chiefs give up the seventh most points against running backs, ranking 31st with a 7% DVOA against the rush. Unfortunately, he is splitting carries with Royce Freeman, who is actually out snapping Lindsay by a slight margin. Still, Lindsay has been the better runner, which is not a surprise. He has four touchdowns on the year, with around 400 yards, averaging 15 rushing attempts per game. The only risk here is if the Chiefs get out in front early, the Broncos might abandon the run. That’s not normally something Denver likes to do simply because rushing the ball is their strong suit. That would basically take Lindsay out of the game, but on a single game slate, I have no problem with that risk.

Travis Kelce – One of the most popular stacking duos in the game, is Mahomes and Kelce. While it has been a down year for the pro bowl tight-end, he still has plenty of time to turn it around. Travis is still getting decent targets averaging eight per game. The major issue has been his touchdown production. That has dipped quite a bit, as he has only scored once so far. All it takes is a few good games and he will be back to his scoring ways. Denver is ranked slightly above average against tight-ends, which is perfectly fine with me. This is a matter of getting the best player at the tight-end position, for only 13k. He is priced lower than Lindsay and has a much higher ceiling. If playing Mahomes you must play Kelce, and honestly, it would be difficult to avoid him even if you weren’t playing Mahomes. The price is just too cheap, and he will be one of the highest owned players on the slate.
