NBA Preseason DFS: Spurs @ Rockets

Spurs

The Spurs are well-rested after not playing a game in a week, however they are a team that I have been avoiding in preseason based on coach Gregg Popovich’s tendency to spread his minutes out over a large number of players, rendering them somewhat unplayable in DFS. LaMarcus Aldridge is really the only guy that mildly interests me and could possibly exceed value in 20-22 minutes if they are feeding him on offense. Otherwise, avoid the Spurs on a slate this size and let’s look elsewhere.

Top Plays: NONE

Secondary Plays: LaMarcus Aldridge

Rockets

The Rockets are a totally different situation tonight. Coach D’Antoni has no problem playing some of his stars decent minutes and they are also well-rested since they haven’t played since returning from overseas. James Harden can do a lot of damage in 25-30 minutes and is under 10k on Drafktkings. Russell Westbrook is much cheaper on DK at 7800 and can rack up a ton of stats even in only 25 minutes. Both of these guys are elite plays tonight and I think you can even pair them together on Draftkings at their prices.

Top Plays: James Harden, Russell Westbrook

Secondary Plays: Eric Gordon, Clint Capela
