DraftKings Showdown Thursday Night Football: Denver Broncos vs Kansas City Chiefs
DraftKings Showdown: Cheap Options
DaeSean Hamilton – $4,800
With Emmanuel Sanders banged up, DaeSean Hamilton could see an expanded role in the offense Thursday night. I frankly only want to roster Hamilton when Sanders is out when he can slide inside to the slot, but if the Chiefs jump out to an early lead, the Broncos will need to throw the ball a ton. While he is not a core play in my flex, I will have some sprinkles of Hamilton.
Noah Fant – $3,400
If he is good enough for a sprinkle at Captain, I will have some shares of him in my flex as well. Unfortunately, he has yet to see a ton of volume in this offense, but his target shares should go up if they’re playing from behind.
Jeff Heuerman – $800
If you want value than Heuerman provides a ton in comparison to DaeSean Hamilton. He is $4000 cheaper and has seen two fewer targets on the year than Hamilton. While he is only likely to smash his price-tag if he scores, Heuerman is someone who can save you a lot of money on a slate that you will need to find some bargains.
DraftKings Showdown: Special Teams / Defensive Flex Options
Harrison Butker – $3,800
One of the best and biggest legs in the game gets an altitude boost Thursday night. With the Chiefs only scoring touchdowns on 52.17% of drives in the red-zone, Butker is a great value on this slate at only $3800.
Brandon McManus – $3,600
The Broncos are currently 25th (47.06%) in the league when it comes to scoring touchdowns in the red-zone. With so many high-priced players on this slate, it will be important to find value. I believe both kickers are in play and should pay off their value just under $4000.
Chiefs – $4,000
The Chiefs will need to jump out to an early lead to provide value for the Chiefs defense tomorrow night. If it is close early the Broncos will want to establish the run and keep Mahomes off the field, limiting this defenses ability to make plays. I will not have a ton of the Chiefs defense in my lineups as I prefer both kickers over them.
DraftKings Showdown: Game Script Thoughts
One of the more shocking opening lines that I saw on Monday morning was this game’s total of 50.5. While that total has come down some to 48.5, Vegas clearly thinks this game has a chance to score some points which should make for a fun slate. The Chiefs opened as a 4.5 point favorite but have since seen that number driven down to -3 by professional bettors. While the majority of the DFS community will be heavy on Chiefs chalk, I think this situation and game script favors more Broncos players than one would think. I think the Chiefs win and cover the 3, but it is a close hard-fought division battle in which both teams have offensive weapons that put up points on this slate.
@JDEBUCH Showdown ATS 14-7
