No. 3 Clemson at Louisville – 12:00 p.m. – ABC

Before the season this game looked like another throwaway game for Clemson in the ACC. Louisville was coming in after one of the worst seasons in program history, and Clemson obviously one of the best in their history. It could still very well be a blowout, but there are definitely some interesting storylines in this one.

Louisville comes into the match up 4-2, with close losses to Notre Dame and Florida State this season. While the Cardinals aren’t as good as their Lamar Jackson days, their offense has still been very good this season. They are currently averaging about 36 points per game this season, good for No. 21 in the country. Led by dual-threat quarterback, Micale Cunningham, the Cardinals haven’t missed a beat after losing original starter Jawon Pass to a season-ending injury. Cunningham has thrown for 820 yards and rushed for 226 more. Javian Hawkins also provides a nice threat in the backfield rushing for over 600 yards this season as well.

For Clemson, we all know the story, an incredibly talented team led by Trevor Lawrence, who just seems sluggish coming out of the gates in 2019. Louisville gives up a lot of points so if there is a chance of an upset, it will probably have to be a shootout. But with a Clemson defense that has looked shaky at times this season, a nail-biter isn’t out of the realm of possibility here.

If Clemson underestimates this Louisville team and comes out flat on Saturday, this could be one of those classic upsets that we have seen the Tigers be subject to in past years. It’s definitely one to keep an eye on to see if the Cardinals can hang with the defending national champions.
