DFS NBA Love Like Leave – Opening Night

Center

Love

Ivaca Zubac (4,500): Zubac had to travel far this offseason, making the mammoth journey from LA to LA. He is going to start for the Clippers, even though Harrell will continue to eat the majority of center minutes.

Harrell also has some ability to play PF, so they could even see the floor together. Zubac is a high-efficiency player historically, and with efficiency comes upside. If the minutes are even close to being high, Zubac could return 6x value, if not higher.

Like

Derrick Favors (6,700: Favors joined the Pelicans this year as a support option, and while I think he generally think he keeps that role, the absence of Zion will give him interior opportunities for easy buckets and rebounds. Favors is a defensive monster as well, and with 3 points per block or steal, Favors has a lot of paths to value.

Leave

Javale McGee (5,600): The center position for the Lakers continues to confuse, as Howard and McGee have both had big preseason performances as well as duds. If one man goes down, the other automatically becomes a fantasy value stud, but until that time, the uncertainty leads me to stay away. If Zubac and McGee play similar roles (20-25 minutes), I think Zubac gets more chances, as at best, McGee will be the offences third or fourth option.
