FanDuel NHL Centers: Oct. 22

I’m likely to go with some cheaper, or value, plays at the center position on Tuesday night. We’ll get into the game-plan soon, but I love the idea of stacking at least three of the top winger plays for this slate, loading up on some 20+ FanDuel NHL plays at that position.

However, in the event that we pivot back to some more expensive plays the two center positions, I like the Jets, Bruins, and Kings top line. From the later, Anze Kopitar ($7,300) is his resurgent career from lats season, and is off to a red-hot start. He’s one of the cheapest top plays with 17+ FanDuel NHL points per game.

A more expensive play in the same game, is Mark Scheifele ($7,700) from the Jets top line. For over a year now, likely more, I’ve continued to keep my eye on the Jets top line, one of the best scoring lines in hockey. If you’re spending big at this position, he should be on your short list of top plays.

Patrice Bergeron ($7,500) fits in well for this slate. Again, since last season, the Bruins top line is one of the best in hockey. But in this case, they’re arguably the best, consistently, since late fall of the 2018-2019 season. Bergeron has a ton of incredible weapons to use from his regular and power play lines, and if you’re not using him at the center position, at least consider playing his winger line-mates.

Expensive plays aside, I think we actually have a better shot at getting as much, or more, FanDuel NHL points from mid-salary range plays like Paul Stastny ($5,300) and Adam Henrique ($5,200).

Henrique’s Ducks offense is red-hot right now, and while they’re on road ice, they’re facing a Nashville Predators defense giving up 3.75 goals per game in their first eight games, third worst in the NHL.

Facing the Predators defense, though, worries me. I think there’s risk the Preds could start to bounce back after a rough start defending high volumes of goals against them. I am more inclined to snag Stastny playing on the Golden Knights second regular and top power play lines. It’s that later that really inflates his value.

Regardless of your top center pick, I’m definitely looking for value with the second pick. You have a few value options, but Christian Dvorak ($3,700) sticks out immediately. For under $4K, we’re getting a center playing on the top power play line of a team facing the Rangers, who have given up 3.67 goals per game, fourth worst in the NHL. Sold!

Now let’s take a look at the wings we want to stack along with our centers…
