. Offensive Tackle. New York Jets. Tristan Wirfs. 5. player. 30

The New York Jets took on the New England Patriots at home to end the Week 7 slate on Monday Night Football, and it was a nightmare performance by the team. In fact, starting quarterback Sam Darnold stated that he was seeing ghosts when he was mic’d up during the game, as the Jets had no answers in a 33-0 blowout loss.

If Darnold is ever going to become the quarterback the team is hoping he will, they have to do a better job of protecting him up front. If this team is once again picking in the top-10 in 2020,  they would be wise to utilize the selection on an offensive tackle, and Iowa’s Tristan Wirfs is definitely someone who could start right away for the Jets.

Wirfs is a monster for the Hawkeyes, and one thing is for sure,  this Jets offensive line has got to get nastier, and more consistent. Darnold has all the talent to be a legitimate franchise guy at the NFL level, but if he has to make throws off his back-foot every game, it is going to be a very frustrating career for him in New York.

31. . Wide Receiver. New York Giants. Jerry Jeudy. 6. player

The New York Giants took on the Arizona Cardinals inside Metlife Stadium on Sunday with driving rain pouring throughout the contest. Unfortunately for Giants fans, the team was beaten by the Cardinals and No. 1 overall pick Kyler Murray, who continues to develop into a franchise quarterback for Arizona.

On the other sideline was another rookie starting quarterback in Daniel Jones, who continues to have issues protecting the ball. One big issue as well is the fact that  he lacks weapons in the passing game, which is why the team should roll the dice on a talented wideout like Jerry Jeudy from Alabama with their first round pick next April.

Jeudy is the kind of playmaker that could really help Jones in his development, as he has the talent to be a very good quarterback in this league, but lacks the weapons he needs to reach his potential. The Giants have major issues on defense, and could go that route early in round one as well, but adding a gamebreaker like Jeudy makes a lot of sense with such a young quarterback.
