NBA DFS Scrubs

Al Horford (vs. BOS – $5,600 on DK; $7,000 on FD): I don’t know how Horford is at that salary on DraftKings, but it’s a great time to jump on it. The Celtics interior defense took a big hit in losing Horford (and gaining Kanter) and I expect the combo of Horford and Embiid to feast in the paint. Don’t be surprised if Horford flirts with a triple-double.

Goran Dragic (vs. MEM – $5,100 on DK; $5,800 on FD): Dragic is coming off the bench, which helps his value in my eyes. The matchup and no Dion Waiters coming off the bench with him also helps. Dragic can still be a productive player and I suspect he’ll get solid minutes. He said he wants to be Dwyane Wade. Wade had some big games off the bench last season and Dragic can produce in a similar manner.

D.J. Augustin (vs. CLE – $5,000 on DK; $4,800 on FD): Not much has changed in Orlando, which is fine for this particular matchup. Augustin is a steady hand who isn’t going to hurt you at this price. On a night with so many options and variables, you’ll need at least one piece who is going to get you guaranteed value with a good matchup. Augustin is that guy.

Jerami Grant (at POR – $4,800 on DK; $5,100 on FD): This will be a breakout season for Jerami Grant and it starts against the Trail Blazers. I’m not a fan of the Blazers frontcourt without Nurkic (sorry, Hassan Whiteside) while I love the Nuggets frontcourt with Jokic and Grant, who can play multiple positions and do a bit of everything on both ends of the floor.

Mikal Bridges (vs. SAC – $4,000 on DK; $4,500 on FD): Bridges had some strong games against the Kings last season and this game is really about the pace. Both teams are going to push the ball and with Ricky Rubio now in Phoenix, Bridges has a true playmaker to get going. There’s plenty of high-end talent available on Wednesday, Bridges is a great salary saver with high potential.
