Welcome to Studs, Scrubs, and Duds; FanSided’s daily fantasy NBA lineup helper.

Here’s what’s on the slate for tonight:

7 p.m. ET: Chicago at Charlotte, Detroit at Indiana, Cleveland at Orlando
7:30 p.m. ET: Minnesota at Brooklyn, Memphis at Miami, Boston at Philadelphia
8:30 p.m. ET: Washington at Dallas, New York at San Antonio
9 p.m. ET: Oklahoma City at Utah
10 p.m. ET: Sacrament at Phoenix, Denver at Portland

How this works:

Studs: Top high salary picks that you can build your lineup around.
Scrubs: Value players looking for a big night or consistent options to help fill out your lineup.
Duds: Players to avoid given their high salary and/or poor matchup.

Five players are picked on each slide, positions are not applicable, and both DraftKings and FanDuel salaries are listed.

Studs

Andre Drummond (at IND – $8,400 on DK; $10,100 on FD): No Blake Griffin should mean big things for Andre Drummond. I absolutely love him on DraftKings at that salary. He’s a guaranteed double-double and can put up similar numbers as Embiid, KAT, and Jokic. All three of those guys cost over $1,000 more than Drummond. The matchup is tough, but Drummond gets numbers.

Lauri Markkanen (at CHA – $7,800 on DK; $7,700 on FD): Good salary and a great matchup. The Hornets are not going to be good, and while the Bulls may not be much better, Markkanen is the best player on the floor for either team. He was a consistent option last season and I expect even better thing for him this season.

Kevin Love (at ORL – $7,600 on DK; $7,200 on FD): Kevin Love remains the best player on Cleveland and a guy who can produce double-doubles with ease. The Cavaliers won’t be good but I’m expecting Love to easily outperform his salary given the matchup.

Jimmy Butler (vs. MEM – $7,600 on DK; $8,800 on FD): Another guy who benefits from a nice DraftKings salary. Butler is the main option in Miami and Memphis, while they’ll likely be scrappy, won’t be a good team this season. Points won’t be an issue for Butler, but expect him to show up defensively against the young Memphis squad and flex a little playmaking muscle because it’s early in the season and he’s not grumpy yet.

Kyrie Irving (vs. MIN – $8,900 on DK; $9,000 on FD): Everything said about Butler applies to Irving. He has a chance to be the top point guard on the night against a Minnesota defense that won’t be good. Kyrie will come into the game energized by the offseason and show out on his new team against an easy pickings matchup.
