Fantasy football picks: Week 8 TNF Vikings vs. Redskins
Dalvin Cook – I really like Dalvin Cook a lot, if you could not tell. He is always making an appearance in my articles, and the guy just can’t stop destroying defenses. Week in, and week out, good match-up, or bad, he has produced. Most recently, he logged 25 rushes, for 142 yards, and two scores against the Lions. Cook has a 68.3% snap count on the year, which sounds a little low considering the production, but he has not been playing in many of the fourth quarters, once the Vikings have a decent lead, he will tend to take a breather. Which is smart from the viewpoint of Minnesota, that is a good way to keep the young back healthy, and fresh.
Cook has eight total touchdowns on the year, averaging between 15-21 carries per game, and around five passing targets also. Washington, gives up the ninth most points to the running back position, ranking 18th in DVOA against the rush. This is a popular play, especially in cash games, and Dalvin should be in your lineups regardless of the format.
Kirk Cousins – “Captain Kirk” has really turned on the heat in recent weeks. He has three straight games of 20 or more FanDuel points, and the funny thing is he did not exceed 34 passing attempts in any of those games. Of course, he has had a 75.5% completion rate in that time, ten scores, and only one interception, with 300 or more yards in each game also. All very rare results for such little volume. Washington ranks 15th in points given up to quarterbacks, but 24th with a 17.5% DVOA against the pass. This is an obvious spot for Kirk to continue his hot streak.
