Early DraftKings college football wide receiver picks October 26

Top Tier:

LSU’s receiving corps situation is about to get a lot more muddled. Chase and Jefferson are talented enough that you could maybe use them against Auburn. However, I see them as overpriced for the opponent and Terrace Marshall is back in the mix this week.

I would much rather spend on the money on Tylan Wallace against Iowa State. First of all, he’s the unquestioned number one receiver for Oklahoma State. Secondly, Iowa State’s secondary, while good, is not as good as Auburn’s.

Both Oklahoma and Texas are facing solid pass defenses so I don’t know that I want to pay the premium for CeeDee Lamb or Devin Duvernay. Duvernay is a possibility, but Oklahoma has so many weapons that I don’t know if Lamb is worth paying for. There are enough other options out there.

Florida State’s secondary is still an issue, especially against top receivers. For that reason, Trishton Jackson could be the best receiver on the slate. Surratt had a big game against Florida State before the rain hit. Jackson could be a monster in nice weather.

Middle Tier:

Miami’s defense is good enough all around that I’m off of both Pitt receivers for the first time in a while. It’s not because I don’t believe in them. It’s more because I don’t believe in Pickett’s being able to get enough time to throw a deep pass. I would rather use Tyler Johnson since I think Minnesota may have to throw more than they usually do.

KJ Hamler had a big game last week against Michigan and could duplicate that against Michigan State. Hamler is the centerpiece of the Penn State offense. Michigan State is going to shut down the run game the same way Michigan did. That should leave the passing game wide open for Clifford and Hamler.

After going without a single catch against West Virginia, Deshaunte Jones was back front and center in Iowa State’s passing attack against Texas Tech. Jones has seven receptions in three of the last four games. The exception was the West Virginia game. I suppose that’s always a possibility, but that’s the exception, not the rule. Charlie Kolar is seeing a lot of looks in the red zone as well, so a Jones/Kolar stack could be the way to go after the Cowboys.

Bargain Shoppers:

TCU has had issues at quarterback all season, but Jalen Reagor is still an elite play most weeks. Against this Texas secondary is definitely one of those places. Cheap receivers are usually a risk, but I don’t think Reagor is. He has actually thrived with Duggan under center.

The drops for Tamorrion Terry are a real problem, but no other Florida State receiver has stepped up to help the quarterbacks out. Terry still gets a massive target share, and is going to have a monster game if he starts hauling in closer to 75% than 50% of his passes.

If Josh Jackson is out again, I’m all over Dontay Demus. Demus got 15 targets with Pigrome under center while Jackson barely looked his way. There’s always a chance that could change, but Demus isn’t a sure thing if Jackson is back. With Pigrome he is.

The quarterback saga in Tucson is also worth watching. Tate was given the hook last week, and the Arizona offense looked a lot better with Gunnell in there. If Arizona starts Gunnell, I love Brian Casteel for the price. Casteel hauled in two scores from Gunnell and topped 100 yards for the first time this year. It looks as though Tate will start, but his hold is tenuous at best.
