NBA DFS Picks and Pivots – Building Out Our Roster

If Embiid does end up sitting out, it will end up taking one of the biggest spend up options off the board and would likely open up the value that pushes folks towards the Rockets trio of James Harden and Russell Westbrook who put up 51 and 62 fantasy points respectively in their first game sharing the Rockets backcourt.

More from DFS

If there is one thing we have to take away from this early season so far in NBA DFS, it is that you have to find those studs to anchor to each and every night and there are two players at the top of mind here for me tonight who also happen to be 1-2 in the early season usage rankings – Trae Young and Kawhi Leonard who are priced at an identical $16.2K on FantasyDraft.

Kawhi has been the clear usage monster for the Clippers with PG13 sidelined thus far but he was also limited to only 21 minutes against the Warriors in a blowout last game. Tonight the Clippers face-off with the Suns, on a back to back, without DeAndre Ayton so I think the blowout risk is incredibly high here tonight and something we simply have to consider if we are rostering Kawhi.

Young meanwhile is coming off an absurd 62 fantasy point outing against the Pistons where he dropped 38 points, 9 assists and 7 rebounds and tonight will face the Orlando Magic.

I am going to continue to beat the drum here that I will side with the singular stars who have no clear challenger for usage and let everyone else jam in guys like Westbrook and Harden who both need to go for 60+ fantasy points to pay off their prices here tonight at 3.5x GPP value.

Keep an eye on the news here tonight especially with Embiid and the Sixers – as if he is out, I think you find a way to game stack it and pick the one-off stud of your choosing.
