Welcome to Studs, Scrubs, and Duds; FanSided’s daily fantasy NBA lineup helper.

Here’s what’s on the slate for tonight:

7 p.m. ET: Chicago at Cleveland, New York at Orlando, Minnesota at Philadelphia
7:30 p.m. ET: Indiana at Brooklyn, Milwaukee at Boston, Detroit at Toronto
8 p.m. ET: Portland at Oklahoma City, Houston at Washington
10 p.m. ET: Charlotte at Sacramento, LA Clippers at Utah, Phoenix at Golden State

How this works:

Studs: Top high salary picks that you can build your lineup around.
Scrubs: Value players looking for a big night or consistent options to help fill out your lineup.
Duds: Players to avoid given their high salary and/or poor matchup.

Five players are picked on each slide, positions are not applicable, and both DraftKings and FanDuel salaries are listed.

Studs

Joel Embiid (vs. MIN – $10,000 on DK; $11,200 on FD): It’s a big matchup between Embiid and Towns and despite what either man will say, this is personal for them both. Great players love going at great players and these are the top two centers in the league. I’m rolling with Embiid in the matchup due to homecourt and the fact that I think the Sixers are the better team. Embiid is my top scorer on the night.

CJ McCollum (at OKC – $6,600 on DK; $6,900 on FD): Everyone will look towards Lillard after what he did against the Thunder in the playoffs last season. It’s a different Thunder team, so don’t get fooled by the pre-game hype. That’s why I’m rolling with McCollum. He always has it against the Thunder and with the attention on Lillard, McCollum will be able to get loose as he always does.

Devin Booker (at GS – $7,900 on DK; $8,500 on FD): Booker has been inconsistent to start the season, but the Suns are playing well and I’m not buying into the Warriors after picking apart the Pelicans non-existent defense. The Warriors defense remains abysmal and the Suns have the firepower to exploit that.

Domantas Sabonis (at BKN – $7,900 on DK; $8,400 on FD): The Nets haven’t offered much defense either this season and Sabonis is a guy who can hurt them on the glass and in the paint. This is a good value salary with Booker and Sabonis compared to the top names on the night.

Jayson Tatum (vs MIL – $6,800 on DK; $7,700 on FD): Tatum is at a great salary on DraftKings and he’s been the best and most consistent player for the Celtics this season. The Bucks are good, but have shown some inconsistency early in the season. Tatum is below guys like Markkanen, Randle, and at the same salary at Washington. I like him better than all three of those guys.
