AEW Dynamite recap for Nov. 6th, 2019: Shifting Gears
By Paul Bradley
We will rock you
Riho returns to Dynamite as she teams up with new AEW signee Shanna against Emi Sakura and Jamie Hayter.
The former teacher and student, Riho and Sakura, start off the match and flow fluidly on the mat as the two show off their insane in-ring chemistry. Sakura continues her heelish ways as she grabs Riho’s hair. Hayter and Shanna tag in as Shanna runs wild.
Shanna hits a rolling neckbreaker and locks in a front chancery. Riho flies in and hits an assisted wheelbarrow splash. Riho and Sakura start fighting again as Riho goes for feint kick but is blocked and rocked with a double underhook backbreaker. Hayter starts working over Riho as the broadcast goes into a break.
Hayter and Sakura continue to beat down on the isolated Riho until the champion finally hits a double stomp on Sakura and gets the hot tag to Shanna. Shanna hits some nasty strikes on Hayter. Shanna hits a nice stunner but Hayter fights back with a Rock Bottom backbreaker. Sakura tries to get the crowd behind her to no success and attempts a Vader Bomb but gets countered.
Shanna fights for the hot tag but Riho is pulled off the apron by Hayter. Shanna hits a diving crossbody to the floor on both her opponents and a underhook brainbuster on Sakura. Sakura gets the tag to Hayter. Hayter hits a Tiger Driver and a massive lariat but Riho saves her partner. Sakura goes for the finish with another double underhook backbreaker and a Vader Bomb but as she goes for the pin, Riho hits a double stomp to save her opponent. Riho gets tagged in and misses several strikes and pinfall attempts and ultimately gets caught in a roll up by Sakura for the three count.
Such a great match. Each of the four competitors looked great in this contest. Shanna and Hayter came off very polished and Sakura established herself as a legit and credible contender for the title as she hands Riho her first loss on Dynamite.
