4. J.K. Dobbins, RB, Ohio State

Because Ohio State was beating Maryland into oblivion on Saturday afternoon, J.K. Dobbins truly wasn’t on the field all that often. As such, he really didn’t get the ball enough to do as much as he has in recent weeks, getting only 13 touches for the game. While that may be true, the standout running back continued to cement his case to get an invite to New York with a productive showing against the Terps.

Dobbins took his 12 carries against Maryland for 90 yards and two touchdowns while his one reception went for eight yards. For the season now, the Buckeyes running back now has 1,200 yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground while adding two receiving touchdowns to his credit as well. He’s been a dominant force for arguably the most dominant team in college football, which is well worth him being at No. 4.

3. Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Alabama

Was the losing effort against LSU on Saturday night a perfect performance for Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa? No — but it was absolutely a heroic effort. Clearly still nursing an ankle injury, the Crimson Tide star did everything in his power to try and keep his team in the game. While his efforts were ultimately all for naught, Tagovailoa shouldn’t be dropping in the Heisman rankings because of it.

Tua finished Saturday’s matchup going 21-of-40 for 418 yards, four touchdowns and an interception while also losing a fumble on the day. Despite missing a game and a half, Tagovailoa still has 2,584 yards, 31 touchdowns and only three interceptions on the season. Had he been able to out-duel Burrow in the end, perhaps he’d crack the top two again. But with the loss and imperfect effort, he stands pat at No. 3.
