DraftKings NBA Shooting Guards:

Best Bets:

We have seen this movie before. Devin Booker and Donovan Mitchell are elite scorers, but very rarely do enough to rocket them past 6x value. They are fine for cash games, but I don’t think I would touch either of them in GPP’s right now. Their usage rate isn’t high enough on the balanced teams they play on.

SGA has only hit value twice in the last five games, which makes him a pretty tough play. The emergence of Schroder has taken some production away, but we could see the Thunder run more of SGA and Schroder together and less of CP3. There’s potential here, but I don’t like the price point.

Honorable Mention:

Buddy Hield has been pretty silent so far this year, but that may end after the injury to Fox. Joseph has never been much of a scorer, so that should open up a lot more chances for Hield. His price is still a touch high for me, but this is a good matchup against Portland.

I don’t usually use CJ McCollum unless Lillard is out, but I may make an exception here. The Kings don’t defend the perimeter well, and once again Portland is pretty weak in the middle. That is especially true if Whiteside is out again. Expect a perimeter assault from the Blazers. Both guards are worth using tonight.

I guess I was wrong about Luke Kennard. Even with Rose and Griffin back, Kennard dropped his second straight game of more than 40 DraftKings points. I doubt that happens against Miami, but even if he hits his customary 35, Kennard clears value easily. However, the safer play at this price is Will Barton. Barton has five straight games of more than 30 DraftKings points and a much easier matchup with Atlanta.

Dark Horses:

Bogdan Bogdanovic has finally come to life off the Kings bench. He has 72.5 DraftKings points over the last two games. I still don’t think he cracks the starting five, but Bogdanovic should see more minutes with Fox out. That can only help his production.

It’s going to be hard not to use Anfernee Simons with the way he has been lighting it up off the bench, but the return of Rodney Hood is likely going to cut into his production. I wouldn’t use either of them tonight until we see what the pecking order looks like with Hood back in the fold.

Cory Joseph is an absolute lock with Fox out for the foreseeable future. Joseph put up 24 DraftKings points against the Hawks in 29 minutes on Friday. Expect another line similar to that tonight.
