DFS fantasy football start/sit advice for week 11 2019
Running Backs
Start:
Ezekiel Elliott (DAL) @ DET
Elliott’s season hasn’t particularly gone the way fantasy owners were hoping at this point of the year. He’s only had three top-ten performances through ten games played this year which sounds surprising given the amount of talent he possesses. While he hasn’t dominated the fantasy landscape as he has in the three years prior, he has managed to find the end zone six times which is encouraging. The Detroit Lions have allowed nine rushing touchdowns this year which is the third-most among defenses in the NFL. Furthermore, they are a fairly generous defense for allowing opposing running backs to score fantasy points as well (25.2/game). This is the perfect opportunity for Elliott to seize as he looks to have a strong second-half to the season.
Josh Jacobs (OAK) vs. CIN
Jacobs has rushed for over 100 yards in five of his last six games played for Oakland. The Raiders were banking on the fact that Jacobs would be a number one back for them almost immediately and that is exactly what is happening so far. Jacobs is the engine that drives Oakland’s offense and the receivers feed off of his explosive style of running. The Raiders may feel inclined to follow the same formula once again on Sunday versus the Bengals. Cincinnati is not a good defense by any means and once Oakland jumps out to a lead, their best course of action is to run out the clock with Jacobs. He is already being fed the ball the ninth-most right now, so it would not surprise me at all if the Raiders continue to ride him for their sixth win of the season.
Sit:
Sony Michel (NE) @ PHI
To say Sony Michel has performed below expectations for 2019 is an understatement. Anyone who drafted him with the hopes of him having a breakout year after an impressive rookie season must surely feel disappointed. He is currently only averaging 10.6 fantasy points per game and is receiving well under 50.0% of New England’s offensive snaps shares this year. Even as a flex option he is quite risky to start on any given week since his usage has been so inconsistent. Couple that with the fact that the Patriots will be taking on a Philadelphia Eagles’ front that has allowed the second-fewest rushing yards to enemy backs this year, Michel’s chances of doing anything fantasy relevant are pretty close to nil.
