DraftKings NBA Shooting Guards:

Best Bets:

Portland doesn’t defend guards well anyway, and now James Harden gets to feast on them. Harden has been the highest scoring player on the slates he has played on each of the last seven times. As we saw on Friday, you can win without using Harden, but you better nail every other piece of your lineup. Fade at your own risk.

We know the skill set of Devin Booker and Donovan Mitchell. The issue for DFS now is that they both have good pieces around them. This is a good matchup for both, but Mitchell has a larger role in the Utah offense. Mitchell has over 5x value in three straight games, so he’s starting to heat up. This Minnesota defense has allowed points like the state allows snow. I love this matchup for Mitchell.

Honorable Mention:

If Beverley is held out again, I’ll go to Lou Williams even in a tougher matchup. Beverley isn’t much of an offensive player. It’s the assists that he leaves on the table for Lou that increases his floor to the point where I’m comfortable using him.

Dame’s putrid field goal shooting has led to an explosion offensively for CJ McCollum. CJ has four straight games of at least 5x value that’s all brought on by his hot shooting. Even if Lillard gets back on track here, I still like CJ with Harden guarding him.

I’m a huge fan of Spencer Dinwiddie here if Kyrie is out. If not, there are better options at the position such as Collin Sexton and RJ Barrett. Both of them are far from consistent, but they are also both running hot right now. Sexton will hurt you less, but Barrett’s upside is much higher.

Dark Horses:

Norman Powell had a ceiling game on Saturday, and DraftKings was all over it with the price jack. Even with the extra minutes, Powell needs to shoot lights out again to come close to value at his new price. I’d look to the red-hot Ben McLemore instead against the “Minnesota nice” defense.

It’s time to take advantage of the price on Nicolas Batum. Batum still played 29 minutes in his return and racked up 26.75 DraftKings points. That’s a hell of a return on $4,300. Forget Monk at his price. You’ll get more out of Batum for $700 less.
