4. Cleveland Browns

The Browns, unsurprisingly really, have failed to meet their preseason hype with a 4-6 record right now. A softer upcoming schedule keeps a playoff spot in the realm of possibilities, so all is not lost yet. But discipline issues have been prevalent, as the one of the most-penalized team in the NFL. The incident with defensive end Myles Garrett put a spotlight on the culture being set by head coach Freddie Kitchens.

During his tenure with the Bengals, perhaps as a nod to taking chances on troubled players when they represented value to a stingy organization more than anything, Lewis presided over some significant issues with penalties and over the top dirty play at times. But that shouldn’t be blamed on him completely, at least based on the perception that he’s a steady hand that does not encourage such things (and presumably has attention to little things that lead to bigger problems).

With Kitchens pretty clearly in over his head and a likely one-and-done as Browns’ head coach, the organization may follow the common template of getting the opposite of what you had. Lewis would obviously fit that bill, so a return to the AFC North stands to be an option for him.
