DraftKings NBA Point Guards:

Best Bets:

Damian Lillard kind of got back on track last night against the Rockets and has an even better matchup against the Pelicans tonight. That Pelicans bench is full of players that play hard, so they haven’t really been on the tail end of blowouts. Lillard should see enough court time to have himself a big game. Of course, I said the same thing last night and he turned in another sub par performance.

Chris Paul stuck it to the Clippers last night, and now he gets his major hatred in life, Rajon Rondo, without a minutes limit. These are going to be Paul’s two best games of the season because they’re played back to back. Ride him in this one too!

Honorable Mention:

Rookie Ja Morant turned in a dud against Denver on Sunday and proceeded to let Murray ruin my trifecta. He’s just behind Turner and Batum on my list. Morant has another great matchup on paper against a team with very few NBA caliber players taking the court. Morant should explode tonight. Whether it is on the scoreboard or detonating your lineup remains to be seen.

Alec Burks came up with more assists than Draymond, so my hope is that the Warriors start Burks or Bowman at the point in order to maximize the value of all three players. I don’t blame the Warriors being unconventional. I don’t remember the last time a team was this ravaged by superstar injuries. They are kind of entertaining to watch right now but maddening for DFS purposes.

Dark Horse:

Ky Bowman turned in a career high in minutes on Sunday. I would expect him to play at least 28 minutes in this one as well. Bowman is mostly a scorer running the point, which is kind of the usual for the Warriors. That may help them get back to some semblance of normalcy. I’m more interested in Bowman if he starts, but it’s safe to say that he has jumped Poole on the depth chart and is neck and neck with Burks.

The Lakers announced that Rajon Rondo is not on a minutes limit, presumably just so he pisses off Chris Paul so much that he gets ejected. Rondo’s minutes don’t mean a lot if he isn’t running the point. There has been no official word on if GM/President/superstar LeBron James is going to let Rondo have the ball in his hands or not. That makes Rondo a sizeable risk. He is a tremendous passer, but that means little if LeBron brings the ball up himself or if Rondo only plays when LeBron is on the bench. I think Rondo is worth the risk tonight though.

If Rubio is out again, Jevon Carter is worth a look starting at minimum price. He’ll reach value again, but there isn’t a lot of upside here. It doesn’t really matter though. He’s minimum price! That said, I wish we had this value on a full slate instead of on one where we don’t really need it.
