DraftKings NBA Shooting Guards:

Best Bets:

Jrue Holiday is the Pelicans version of last man standing. Ingram, Ball, and Jackson are all questionable again, but with Hart out, I expect Holiday to play plenty of minutes. If Ball makes his return, I will probably shy away from Holiday at this price. There are better high priced options out there.

Rubio was a late scratch last night, so I wouldn’t expect him to play here either. Devin Booker still had a pedestrian night outside of his scoring, which was more than mildly disappointing. Booker only had four assists with Rubio out. I think this is a solid spot for Booker again, but I don’t trust him if all he is going to do is score.

Honorable Mention:

As good as both Booker and Holiday have been, CJ McCollum has been even better. Lillard is still struggling and CJ is picking up all of the slack. His price is getting to the point where it makes me nervous to pay this with Lillard still healthy, but you can’t deny which one of them is carrying the Blazers right now. Enjoy this run while it lasts.

Buddy Hield is a dangerous assassin with the ball in his hands. He exploded for 35 actual points and 57.5 DraftKings points in a tough matchup against Boston. With Fox off the floor, Hield is ramping up the volume, which was pretty high anyway. He can always go cold, but we see how high Hield’s ceiling is. That makes him a very intriguing GPP option.

Dark Horses:

JJ Redick continues to see a ton of minutes and a ton of shots despite the stellar play of NAW. If Ball returns, I think it’s Redick that loses the most minutes, so I’ll fall off of him depending on the status of Ball. If Ball is out again, NAW, Holiday, and Redick are all strong plays.

This rash of injuries could be the best thing for Pelicans rookie Nickeil Alexander-Walker. NAW has exploded for 73.25 DraftKings points in 65 minutes over the last two games. With Hart still out, I expect NAW to still get decent run regardless of the status of Ball. His price is up to the point where we really have to pay attention to how much court time he will get, but so long as NAW gets 25 minutes, he’ll get plenty of value for this price.
