DraftKings Showdown: Cheap Options

Eric Ebron $4,600 –

Another player that you will have to monitor before kickoff as Ebron did not participate in practice Monday, or Tuesday. If Ebron does play, my interest is heavily dependent upon T.Y. Hilton‘s availability as his snap percentage and target share has increased dramatically in his absence.

Jack Doyle $4,400 –

If Ebron is out, Doyle becomes the best value play on the slate at $4400. My expectation is for him to play though limiting both of their upsides and limiting my exposure to both Colts tight ends.

Keke Coutee $2,400 –

It appears that Coutee has finally gotten out of the Bill O’Brien dog house, as he played on 72% of the snaps last week compared to zero that he saw the week before. The head coach has made it clear that Coutee needs to pay more attention to detail in order to play in this offense. At $2400 he can easily reach value should Fuller be out again, as he is likely to see 70% of the snaps as the Texans play three-wide often. If Fuller does play, I will limit my ownership to Coutee as Kenny Stills can slide inside and take some snaps from Coutee who has struggled to keep the coaching staffs trust.

DraftKings Showdown: Special Teams / Defensive Flex Options

The only lineups in which I would consider having one of the defenses in my lineups will be heavily correlated with the teams rushing attack in a low scoring build.

Ka’imi Fairbairn $3,800 – The Texans are the sixth best team in red-zone as they score touchdowns on 66% of trips inside the twenty. With both teams efficient inside the red-zone, I will have lower ownership of both kickers tomorrow night than usual.

Adam Vinatieri $3,600 – Like the Texans, the Colts are very proficient in the red-zone scoring touchdowns on 63% of trips. With Vinatieri’s struggles kicking this season (15-20) and (18-24 PATs) I am likely to only play Vinatieri in a small percentage of lineups.

DraftKings Showdown: Game Script Thoughts

The Texans opened as a -5.5 point home favorite with a total of 46.5. The total has come down to 45.5 while the Colts have been steamed down to just a 3.5 point underdog. With this being the second time these division rivals face each other and both teams likely to be without key offensive contributors, I would expect both offenses to struggle tomorrow night. If the Colts can get Hilton back and the Texans can get Fuller back, the two field stretchers change my outlook dramatically. If not, I believe they will rely upon the ground game in what should be an ugly division game that goes under the posted total.
