DraftKings NBA Shooting Guards:

Best Bets:

Brad Beal ($10,200): Beal is the highest priced player on this slate, and I’m sure your question is the same as mine: is he actually worth it? This Kings team isn’t the same one defensively that Klay dropped 70 on four times a year for a while. However, Beal has cleared at least 50 DraftKings points in four of the last five games. He is the offense. The high usage gives Beal a great chance to clear 50 every game.

Jrue Holiday ($7,900): This is a small slate, but I’m not doing anyone a service if I write up everyone. Booker wasn’t very good against Denver the first time around. If Rubio is out I would consider it, but not over Holiday. Even with the return of Ball and Ingram, Holiday has extended his streak of 40+ DraftKings points games to four and seven of the last eight. I don’t usually target the Clippers either, but Jrue dropped 63 DraftKings points on them in the first meeting. He’s not hitting that tonight, but 40 is a lock.

Honorable Mention:

Lou Williams ($7,000): Lou lit up the Pelicans for 50.5 DraftKings points the first time around, but the Pelicans are a little more healthy now than they were then. I’m not sure it matters. The Pelicans defense isn’t good when the whole team is at full strength. Williams is a threat to drop 50 in any game, even though he hasn’t done so since that Pelicans game ten days ago.

J.J. Redick ($6,100): Many thought that Redick would go back to the bench after Ball’s return, but that hasn’t been the case. Honestly, the Pelicans can’t afford to take him off the court right now. Redick has at least 27 DraftKings points in eight straight games, nailing at least three triples in every one of those. Redick has always been streaky, and he’s on one of the hottest streaks of his career right now.

Dark Horses:

Garrett Temple ($5,000): Temple has never been a valuable fantasy guy even when running starters minutes like he is now. Temple has shown a willingness to shoot more with the Nets and it’s paying off for him. The problem with Temple is the same as with Harris. If they go cold, they can torpedo a lineup. Temple has been more consistent than Harris, but Harris has far greater upside.

Tyler Johnson ($4,200): Johnson has been starting with Rubio out, but as was the case in Miami last year, Johnson’s inconsistency is an issue. Still, with his price this low and a starting gig, it’s worth taking a chance on if Rubio is out again.
